(Maybe) Jamaican rum cake

Behold one of the best things I've eaten this year: rum cake!

The box says it's Jamaican.

But the package insert says it's from the Cayman Islands.

From above it looks like a donut.

And viewed from the front it looks a wee bit deformed (and don't you find that open drawer in my kitchen disconcerting?)

Despite the mixed messages, this rum cake--a gift from a Jamaican co-worker--is super tasty. Think yellow cake enhanced and made moist by sweet ruminess.

I managed to control myself and only eat half of it today, keeping in mind a US equivalent of the Jamaican saying, what sweet nanny goat a go run him belly

Does the open kitchen cabinet drawer foreshadow the next sweet thing to come slithering out?

the only thing that slithers out of that drawer are spoons and chopsticks...
